Nevada Wolf Pack at Purdue Boilermakers (Saturday/12:00 pm)

Purdue is exactly what we’ve come to expect from them since at least the Joe Tiller era — a team that loves to air out the ball and has an aversion to defense. The Boilermakers are ripe upset candidates this week against visiting Nevada, especially after allowing 31 points per game against FCS Eastern Kentucky and Cincinnati. Quarterback David Blough and the receiving corps will have a tough test against a Wolf Pack team that is ranked eighth nationally in passing yards allowed.

The Purdue defense could have its hands full with Nevada running back James Butler. The junior is ranked 16th in the country in rushing yards per game and tied for eighth in rushing touchdowns. A Boilermakers team that is ranked 104th nationally in rushing defense could be giving up plenty more yards on Saturday, and it could cause them to get upset a second time by mid-major competition after already losing to Cincinnati.
