East Carolina Pirates at Virginia Tech Hokies (Saturday/12:30 pm)

So East Carolina didn’t manage to pull off an upset in SEC country last weekend, falling by five points at South Carolina. But they have already knocked off NC State two weeks ago, and they get a chance to go 2-0 in ACC play before they start conference play in the AAC. Quarterback Philip Nelson has already thrown for over a thousand yards on the season, and the defense is allowing just 19 points per game despite having already played two Power Five opponents.

Virginia Tech team that rebounded from the Battle at Bristol loss to Tennessee with a 49-0 shutout of Boston College to begin conference play last weekend. Their primary goal at this point is to reclaim the ACC Coastal, and with the league slate that follows this game it wouldn’t be hard to overlook the Pirates. Justin Fuente is now in charge, but plenty of the players who fell to ECU each of the past two years remain on the roster. Would it even be an upset at this point if the Pirates win a third straight against the Hokies?
