Missouri State Bears at Kansas State Wildcats (Saturday/7:10 pm)

There were only three games from which to choose among the FCS-versus-Power Five matchups this week. Ostensibly Wagner could knock off Boston College or Delaware State could take down Missouri. But while those games feature decent FCS teams, the showdown in the Little Apple will probably be a lot more competitive from start to finish. The Bears are ranked in the top 20 in pretty much every offensive and defensive category at the FCS level, and have the weapons to make life miserable for Bill Snyder’s crew.

Kansas State will have to lean on a defense that has honestly been quite good this season. Giving up 26 points on the road to Stanford, after all, is hardly an indictment of a defensive unit. Missouri State brings a far better defense to Manhattan than Florida Atlantic did last week, and a better offense as well. Though Big 12 play looms for the Wildcats, they cannot look too far ahead lest they become the next Power Five school to get upset by an FCS program.
