College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 4
By Zach Bigalke
After rushing for only 228 yards in his first three games of the year, Florida State’s Dalvin Cook more than doubled his season total on the ground against South Florida. Cook torched the Bulls defense for 267 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for another 62 yards as the Seminoles ran away with a 55-35 victory in Tampa. FSU’s defense allowed USF to rush for nearly 300 yards itself, but picked off Bulls quarterback Quinton Flowers twice and held the hosts under 20 minutes of possession.
Florida State is still looking up at Louisville and Clemson (and Wake Forest?!) in the ACC Coastal standings, but they’ll get a shot to strengthen their conference record over the next two months. Cross-division games against North Carolina and Miami loom in the next fortnight, before the Seminoles take on Wake Forest and Clemson to wrap up October. If they can win their next four games, Jimbo Fisher’s squad will solidify position in the top 10 of the AP Top 25.
