The Syracuse Orange pulled out a 31-24 victory over UConn on the road, overcoming the odds. But they stay steady at 13th in this week’s ACC power rankings.

The Orange used a 12-play, 99-yard drive to score with 2:14 left in the game to go up 31-17 on the Huskies.

Quarterback Eric Dungey passed for 407 yards and two touchdowns and also had a rushing touchdown in the game. The Orange won despite just gaining 62 rushing yards all game.

Wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo had a career day for the Orange. He caught 12 passes for a school-record 270 yards and two touchdowns.

The graduate transfer from Maryland has 706 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns so far this season. He has at least 100 receiving yards in his last four games. It’s safe to say, he is making the most of his final year of eligibility.

Etta-Tawo is leading the nation in receiving yards and fifth in the nation in receiving touchdowns. His 40 receptions on the season are also first in the nation.

This Week: Notre Dame

The Syracuse Orange host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the Carrier Dome this week. Notre Dame is 1-3 on the season and just fired their defensive coordinator, Brian VanGorder. The Orange are 3-4 all time against the Fighting Irish.
