ACC Football: Week 4 Power Rankings
The Pittsburgh Panthers drop another three spots in this week’s power rankings after an epic collapse in the fourth quarter to the Tar Heels 37-36.
The Panthers led 36-23 with 11:03 left in the fourth quarter, then disaster struck.
The Tar Heels forced two three and outs and scored two touchdowns to hand the Panthers their second straight loss. The Panthers defense allowed the Tar Heels to convert three fourth downs on the final drive of the game.
North Carolina scored their final touchdown with two seconds left in the game.
The game snapped running back James Conner’s two game streak with at least 100 rushing yards. Conner still rushed for a touchdown and had 66 rushing yards and 64 receiving yards.
It was quarterback Nathan Peterman’s first game without a passing touchdown.
This Week: Marshall
The Panthers play their last nonconference game of the season this week against the Marshall Thundering Herd. It is the first ever meeting between Pittsburgh and Marshall.
