Memphis is another Group of Five school that lost its head coach last offseason to a Power Five gig. Yet like Toledo, the Tigers keep churning out wins against inferior competition. Both the offense and defense have only improved with each passing game, most recently rolling up 77 points and only allowing a field goal against defending MAC champion Bowling Green. Winning their first three games by an average 52-9 scoreline, Memphis is a top five team in scoring offense and scoring defense.

Next week the stakes increase dramatically, as the Tigers head to Oxford to face Ole Miss. The Rebels have just a lone loss to top-ranked Alabama on their record. Oh, and they lost last year to Memphis at the Liberty Bowl. A win over an SEC powerhouse would carry far more weight than beating Kansas by any score. Even if they lose, though, the Tigers have proven themselves a tough out in a stacked AAC West field.
