The Pittsburgh Panthers have lost two straight games after getting out to a 2-0 start. The Panthers go out of conference this week looking for win number three.

The Panthers squandered a fourth quarter lead late to fall to the North Carolina Tar Heels last week 37-36. The defense will need to improve if it wishes to keep pace with the offense.

The Pittsburgh defense allowed five passing touchdowns despite allowing just 18 rushing yards on the ground.

Pittsburgh’s offense averages 249.5 rushing yards per game, third best in the ACC. They’ll need to get the running game going early with their running back tandem of James Conner and Qadree Ollison.

Ollison has just 71 rushing yards so far on the season.

The Marshall Thundering Herd enter Week 5 with a 1-2 record on the season. They are coming off a 10-3 record last season.

The Thundering Herd hosted Louisville last week and it didn’t end well. Louisville racked up 690 total yards of offense on their way to a 59-28 victory. The score was 35-7 at halftime.

Quarterback Garet Morrell was 9 for 21 with just 59 passing yards. Morrell did throw two passing touchdowns in the game.

This is Marshall’s last out of conference game before beginning Conference USA play. They have yet to win a game against a Power 5 opponent.

Their 62-0 win this season came over non-major Morgan State.
