Wake Forest vs NC State Live Stream: Watch Demon Deacons vs Wolfpack Online
By Tim Kaiser
Here’s how to stream the only ACC Atlantic showdown worth watching on Saturday (besides Louisville-Clemson), undefeated Wake Forest vs. NC State.
Can a Demon Deacon get some respect? Wake Forest makes the short trip down Tobacco Road to play NC State this weekend as double-digit underdogs despite their 4-0 record. Both teams have inflated records thanks to FCS wins.
Wake is off to their best start since their Orange Bowl team in 2006 that started 5-0. Coincidentally, that is also the last time the Deacons won a game in Raleigh. They have already eclipsed their win totals from each of the last two seasons. Dampening the excitement is who those wins have come against. Wake won the opener over Tulane in a thoroughly depressing 7-3 contest. Beating Duke on the road would be more impressive if they weren’t so depleted, but Duke’s win over Notre Dame retroactively puts a little more polish on Wake’s third ACC win in three years. Their other two wins are over Delaware and at Indiana, who turned the ball over five times. With all that in mind, Wake has been fairly good defensively. They are top 20 in scoring defense, rushing defense and turnover margin.
However, it’s not like NC State has taken out the Murderers’ Row of college football to get to their 2-1 start. Their schedule has actually been even softer. Both of the Wolfpack’s wins are against FCS teams. Their “good loss” is a 33-30 defeat in Greenville. ECU is a decent team, but in the state school and conference hierarchy, there is no excuse to lose that game.
If you want to get an understanding of just how fraudulent people think Wake Forest’s 4-0 start is, look at the betting line. Wake opened as 8.5-point dogs and now the line is anywhere from 11.5 to 13 depending on your sportsbook of choice.
