College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 5

They were already in the Coaches Poll, and now after knocking off Florida State in a down-to-the-wire finish North Carolina should move into the AP Top 25 as well. The Tar Heels gave up nearly 600 total yards of offense, but quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns (and ran for another) as UNC kept pace. Ryan Switzer finished the day with 14 receptions for 158 yards, gashing the FSU secondary all day long.
While the ACC Atlantic gets most of the attention with Louisville, Clemson, and Florida State, the Coastal is looking just as dangerous this year. UNC leads the pack, their only loss having come to Georgia in the season opener. Games against Virginia Tech and Miami in the next two weeks will determine which is the favorite for the division crown this year. The Tar Heels have the offensive firepower to contend for the honors, though the defense will need to tighten up.
