It’s going to be a long season for the Oregon State Beavers. They finally broke their losing streak last week, but still can’t break the consecutive losses in their conference. They lost all their games last season against the Pac-12 and now are 0-1.

The first thing they will need to do is find a quarterback. Connor Blount had to take over once again for Darell Garretson and probably will now be the starting quarterback after Garretson failed to get anything going for the Beavers.

Even the defense looked poor out there. Oregon State suffered their biggest loss on the season as Colorado tallied 555 yards of total offense and was led by wide receiver Shay Fields, who caught seven passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense also couldn’t stop freshman quarterback Steven Montez who took over for injured starter Sefo Liufau. Montez finished with 19-for-27 passing including throwing for 293 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 28 yards.

Earlier in the year, I thought maybe Oregon State could defeat Washington State as their only victory this season in the Pac-12, but right now I don’t think that will even happen. The good news is that they have their next two games at home. They will face California then #24 Utah.
