The Washington Cougars have won two straight games? Okay, I understand the victory over Idaho, but over Oregon… whoa! Yes, the same team that lost to Eastern Michigan by giving up 45 points beat conference and division rival Oregon Ducks. This makes two straight seasons the Cougars have given the “L” to Oregon.

This wasn’t a necessarily difficult game for Washington State as they took a 28-14 lead into halftime. By the end, Oregon was still looking for their duck tail as it was kicked off the bird as the Cougars would go on to win 51-33.

Luke Falk continued to put the pressure on the poor defense of the Ducks. They have allowed a total of 2,452 yards, which is tied for 121st in the nation. Falk passed for 371 yards and one touchdown while the running back tandem of Jamal Morrow, James Williams, and Gerad Wicks rushed for 280 yards on 40 carries (7.0 yards per carry) and six touchdowns. Falk completed passes to 11 different receivers and they totaled 36-371-1 stat line.

It will be interesting to see if Washington State can rebound from their bad start as this team won nine games last season so the talent is there. They will bash shields against Stanford next week on the road and then UCLA at home.
