Texas A&M’s Armani Watts strips Alvin Kamara after huge gain
By Tyler Brooke
Tennessee Volunteers running back Alvin Kamara thought he had just made a huge play against the Texas A&M Aggies, but he wound up turning the ball over.
Arguably the biggest game of Week 6 was a top-10 showdown on Saturday between the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies. The game definitely featured plenty of fireworks early on.
In the first quarter of Saturday’s SEC matchup, Tennessee’s Josh Dobbs hit running back Alvin Kamara out of the backfield. Kamara took off, made a couple of defenders missed and was on his way to a massive pickup of 55 yards.
Texas A&M’s Armani Watts had other plans. With Kamara nearing the end zone, Watts went for the ball and was able to pop it out. The Aggies landed on the ball and were able to completely swing the momentum their way.
You can check out the impressive play from Watts in the video below.
The Aggies defense is filled with talented players, including Watts. However, his teammate Myles Garrett is the one getting all of the NFL draft hype, with many believing that he is worthy of being selected with the No. 1 overall pick. The Aggies also have another potential first round pick in safety Justin Evans.
Watts has been one of the more pleasant surprises considering how impressive of a season he has been having. With so many players capable of making plays for the Aggies, its no wonder they headed into Saturday’s game with a perfect record. They’ll hope to keep that perfect record intact with a win over the Volunteers.
