Texas A&M running back Trayveon Williams nearly sealed the victory for the Aggies on Saturday, but instead he fumbled into the end zone against Tennessee.

The Tennessee Volunteers have to be the luckiest team in  college football. A week after their thrilling victory on a game-winning Hail Mary against the Georgia Bulldogs, the Volunteers were bailed out yet again on Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies.

Down 35-28 late in the fourth quarter, Tennessee needed to stop the Aggies offense for a chance to get the ball back. Instead, it looked like the Aggies would put the game away when running back Trayveon Williams found a seam and took off.

Williams looked like he was going to go all the way for a touchdown. However, as he neared the goal line, Tennessee’s Darrell Taylor punched at the ball and was able to pop it out. The ball flew out of the back of the end zone for a touchdown and an Aggies turnover.

You can check out the entire play in the video below.

Rather than putting the game out of reach for Tennessee, the Volunteers were able to drive down the field and score the game-tying touchdown with just 40 seconds remaining. Williams was having an amazing game prior to the fumble too, running for 173 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.

The Volunteers look like a team whose destiny is to keep winning wild games in the final minutes. Plays like this forced fumble lost by Williams are continuing to keep the program’s College Football Playoff hopes alive.
