Heading into Week 6, Oregon’s Royce Freeman was having about as good of a season as any running back in the country. Unfortunately, that quickly fell apart when the Ducks got obliterated by the Washington Huskies in a 70-21 blowout.

Freeman carried the ball 11 times in the blowout, rushing for just 4.5 yards per attempt. That was his first game with fewer than 6.2 yards per carry all year.

Despite not playing against Colorado, Freeman has still run for 513 yards and seven touchdowns this season, averaging a very impressive 7.7 yards per touch on the ground. He doesn’t get a lot of touches in Oregon’s spread offense, but he makes the most of them when he does.

Saturday’s game against Washington hurt Freeman, but he can make up for that performance with some big outings in the coming weeks.
