Before the season began, Stanford Cardinal running back Christian McCaffrey was one of the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy. Now, McCaffrey is just trying to find the end zone.

McCaffrey left last Saturday’s game against Washington State with an injury and it’s unclear if he’ll play this week. That’s a shame, because the Stanford running back hasn’t scored a touchdown in three weeks. In his last two games, McCaffrey has run for just 84 yards on 20 carries.

This season, the Stanford star has picked up just 674 total yards and four total TDs. Those aren’t Heisman-caliber numbers, especially with guys like Lamar Jackson already putting up 28 total scores.

At this point, McCaffrey needs to start thinking about his long-term future as a potential NFL running back since Stanford is just 3-2 to start the season. If this injury is anything serious, he should make sure he’s 100 percent healthy before getting back out there.
