Here’s how you can watch Saturday evening’s Iowa State vs Texas game from Austin online.

Texas began the season in ideal fashion. After another rough season under Charlie Strong in 2015, the Longhorns desperately needed something to get excited about this year, and they did with a home victory over No. 10 Notre Dame. Since that win, though, Texas is just 1-3.

After jumping to No. 11 in the AP Poll, it looked like Strong had turned this program around, but he still has plenty of talented pieces and nothing to show for it. Shane Buechele is the quarterback of the future, though, as the freshman has been impressive through five games.

It seems like it’s the Longhorns’ defense that is holding Texas back. In fact, Texas ranks 118th in the country in points allowed with nearly 40 given up per game. Oh yeah, and the secondary is allowing about 300 passing yards per contest. Not good.

They might get a nice bounce-back win this week over a hapless Iowa State team, however. Despite playing Baylor tough a couple weeks ago, the Cyclones blew a big lead and have looked lifeless this season.

Joel Lanning might be doing a solid job under center for Iowa State, but the fact of the matter is this team is 1-5. He has been a bright spot, passing for 1,056 yards, nine touchdowns and just three picks with a 60 percent completion rate.

Lanning will need to be on his ‘A’ game this week and he could use some help from Mike Warren in the run game. He will look to add to his total of 436 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
