The Miami Hurricanes and North Carolina Tar Heels look to get back in the win column this week. Both teams looked out of sync and look to get back to it this week in another ACC contest.

The Miami Hurricanes lost their first game of the season on a missed PAT attempt, 20-19 to Florida State. It was a black eye to what has been a positive season for the Hurricanes.

Quarterback Brad Kaaya still threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns in the game. But the Hurricanes had just 62 rushing yards in the game.

The Hurricanes are 4-1 and 1-1 in ACC play so far, with this game being a turning point. A win puts them in the hunt for the Coastal division title, but a loss will be another setback for a team looking to right the ship.

Head coach Mark Richt has the Hurricanes playing good football. They have allowed just 284 yards per game, fifth in the ACC. They are tied for second with Clemson in yards per play allowed with 4 yards per play.

The North Carolina Tar Heels were shell shocked in their rainy 34-3 loss to Virginia Tech last week. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw two interceptions, his first turnovers of the season. The game also snapped Trubisky’s three game streak of 400+ passing yards.

The Tar Heels had an unforgettable game where they earned just eight first downs. They were 2 for 14 on third down conversions and 0 for 4 on fourth down conversions.

They gained just 131 total yards and turned the ball over four times in the game, 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

The Tar Heels hope their weather-related woes don’t carryover into this week’s game with Miami. It was their lowest offensive scoring output of the season.
