College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 7
By Zach Bigalke
Through the first half at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, the Broncos were behind against Colorado State. They managed to score a late touchdown in the final minute to take a 7-3 lead into the locker room, and while the Rams get the ball first to start the second half Boise State’s defense has managed to keep them in check for most of the game. As long as the result holds, Bryan Harsin’s team should maintain its position in the Top 25 when it is released tomorrow.
The Broncos at this point look like the preeminent team among the Group of Five conferences. We’ve seen this team win Fiesta Bowls before, and at this point they’re penciled in to the Cotton Bowl as long as they keep winning. Boise State has a short week before they turn around for a Thursday night showdown on the Smurf Turf against BYU. They head to Wyoming on the last weekend of October in a battle at the top of the MWC Mountain. If they remain unbeaten by November, Boise State should have little trouble with San Jose State, Hawaii, or UNLV, making the regular-season finale at Air Force the last big test after the trip to Laramie.
