College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 7
By Zach Bigalke
Ohio State fell behind early against Wisconsin in a top-ten showdown in Madison, but managed to come back and force overtime. In the extra frame the defense held, getting a sack on Wisconsin’s final play for the close win. J.T. Barrett once again was forced into a heavy workload both throwing and running the ball, finishing with 318 total yards of offense and three touchdowns on the day. Despite getting the win, there is some cause for concern, as the defense allowed 461 yards to a Badgers team that has looked anemic much of the season.
Ohio State was able to secure the win and remain unbeaten, and should remain in the second spot of the AP Top 25. The Buckeyes conclude their road swing next weekend with a trip to Happy Valley to face Penn State. They have a home stand against Northwestern and Nebraska to end October and begin November, then take back to the road on consecutive weekends against Maryland and Michigan State. The season finale at the Horseshoe against Michigan should still decide which team represents the Big Ten East.
