This offseason was a terrible one in Waco. Baylor was constantly in the news for all of the wrong reasons. The firing of their head coach Art Briles and their handling of sexual assault allegations made against some Baylor football players explain why.

The Baylor Bears currently find themselves undefeated and sitting at ninth in the recent AP Top 25 poll. It was dominance on Saturday against a really poor Kansas team, as Baylor won 49-7.

Quarterback Seth Russell threw for four touchdowns before being rested at halftime, and their defense got the job done. Cornerback Ryan Reid had two interceptions, his first being a 64-yard interception to the house.

However Baylor still has a lot to prove. The first half of their schedule was rather easy. They haven’t played a ranked team yet, and so far Oklahoma State is their best win on the year.

Baylor still has to go to Texas and Oklahoma, but for now I’m not expecting much out of this team. For some reason the Big 12 won’t expand and have a conference championship, and that might continue to hurt their conference again this year if the Bears do continue to win.
