Clemson. Deshaun Watson. 2. player. 42. . QB

The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of needs as evidenced by their 45-16 loss to the Bills this week. While the defense is a huge concern, so is the passing offense.

The Niners rank last in total yards per game (292.8) and last in passing yards (169.5). On the bright side, they’re 19th in scoring offense (21.2) and 5th in rushing (123.3).

Drafting Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson should turn things around. He’s our second pick in this week’s mock draft.

Watson has shown his development as a quarterback while at Clemson. Watson has 1,950 passing yards, 20 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions so far through seven games.

His ability to remain in the pocket this season as a passer has really stood out as well. He ran for his first rushing touchdown of the season this weekend in their close victory over NC State last week.

He will need to work better on going through his reads. At times, he gets focused on one target. Maybe having a target like Niners receiver Torrey Smith or Jeremey Kerley could change things.
