Here’s how to stream the ACC Coastal clash between the No.22 North Carolina Tar Heels (5-2, 3-1 ACC) and the Virginia Cavaliers (2-4, 1-1).

North Carolina’s “reprieve” after three straight weeks of ranked teams is to play a road game against their oldest rival in everything from academics to athletics. Virginia and North Carolina are the two premier public academic institutions of the South.* The pair has been meeting on the football field since 1892. Saturday will mark the 121st time they will play.  Carolina leads the series 62-54-4. The Heels have won the last 6 games in the series.

North Carolina is tied atop the Costal with Virginia Tech. However, the Hokies hold the tiebreaker with their 34-3 shellacking of Carolina in Chapel Hill during the torrential rains of Hurricane Matthew. Mitch Trubisky and UNC got revenge against the hurricane last week by beating then No. 16 Miami on the road — their second win over a ranked team in Florida in three weeks.

Virginia started 0-3 before the Cavs got back-to-back wins for first-year head coach Bronco Mendenhall against Central Michigan and Duke. Last week, UVA lost 45-31 to Pittsburgh at home.

Statistically, the Tar Heels are superior in nearly every facet of the game. The only spot Virginia has an advantage by the numbers is in rushing defense. However, the Cavaliers do not necessarily have the personnel to take advantage of Carolina’s glaring weakness with the 119th ranked rushing offense in the country.

Trubisky got his longshot Heisman dark horse campaign back on track against Miami after his   dreadful showing against Virginia Tech. He was 13 for 33 with his only two picks of the season in that sopping wet game against the Hokies. Against the Canes, the junior completed 71.7 percent of his passes and threw for 299 yards and 2 scores. He is already over 2000 yards passing on the year.

Will North Carolina keep pace in the ACC Costal race? Or, will Virginia spoil their rival’s season?

* University of Georgia fans, your argument that you belong in that discussion is preemptively noted. For those that will argue that Virginia and maybe even North Carolina “aren’t even really ‘The South,'” your argument is silly. Any state that seceded from the Union I think can still be safely counted as “The South.”
