The Nebraska Cornhuskers look to continue their winning ways in Big Ten play this week against the Purdue Boilermakers.

The Cornhuskers are ranked eighth in the AP Poll, their highest ranking since 2011. They are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in Big Ten conference play.

They average 220.5 rushing yards per game. The offense is third in the Big Ten in total yards per game with 453.8 a contest.

Running backs Terrell Newby and Devine Ozigbo have served as the Cornhuskers two-headed rushing attack.

Newby has 81 carries for 429 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Ozigbo has 77 caries for 320 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. has 1,358 passing yards on the season with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. He is second on the team in rushing yards with 329 with five rushing touchdowns.

The Cornhuskers defense allows  just 18.3 points per contest, ranked 19th in the FBS. Their 344.5 total yards per game allowed ranks fourth in the Big Ten.

The Purdue Boilermakers enter Week 8 with a new head coach, for now. They are 3-3 overall on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

Receivers coach Gerad Parker is the interim head coach, replacing fired head coach Darrell Hazell. Hazell compiled a 9-33 record while serving as head coach of the Boilermakers.

Despite the firing, the Boilermakers are first in the Big Ten in passing yards per game with 305.5 a contest.

Quarterback David Blough leads the conference in passing yards with 1,756. Blough also leads the conference in interceptions with 10. He’s thrown 12 passing touchdowns this season.

Receiver Deangelo Yancey leads all receivers in receiving yards with 391 yards.

Running back Markell Jones is Purdue’s leading rusher with 372 rushing yards. Jones also has two rushing touchdowns.
