College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 8
By Zach Bigalke
Colorado reached bowl eligibility for the first time as a Pac-12 team with a win over Stanford on Saturday. The Buffaloes were not able to get much going on offense, but the defense stepped up in a big way to secure the win. In addition to snagging three interceptions from Ryan Burns, Colorado forced a fumble and held the Cardinal under 300 total yards of offense. Phillip Lindsay needed just a dozen carries to pile up 131 rushing yards, picking up the slack on an off day for quarterback Sefo Liufau.
The Buffaloes remain tied with Utah atop the Pac-12 South standings, and after a bye week they should be rested for a challenging November slate. Colorado takes on UCLA at home in a Thursday-night game to open the final month of the regular season. Their last road game is at Arizona on November 12, and if they get past the Bruins and Wildcats they will have a chance to reach ten wins at home. Washington State and Utah come to Boulder over the last two weekends of November, when the conditions should really favor the home team at Folsom Field.
