After eight weeks of college football, let’s take a close look at an updated 2017 NFL mock draft for the entire first round.

With rivalry week and conference championship games right around the corner, NFL draft prospects around the country are starting to stand out as potential first-round selections.

Meanwhile, in the NFL, we are starting to get a better picture of which teams will be drafting early and which will be competing for a Super Bowl title.

Here is an updated NFL mock draft after Saturday’s action. Please note that there are some players I have yet to scout (including guys like Caleb Brantley and Gareon Conley) who could be drafted in the first round that will not included in this week’s mock draft.

Note: Draft order is based off of Super Bowl odds via OddsShark as of October 20th.

Yes, I know that the Cleveland Browns need a quarterback. However, when you draft quarterbacks year after year who fail to produce, you have to start looking to rebuild elsewhere before trying to lock up a potential franchise QB.

Texas A&M edge rusher Myles Garrett is the clear-cut No. 1 player in this draft. He’s got the strength, size (6’5”, 270 pounds) and speed to give opposing offensive tackles nightmares trying to contain him. His stats tell part of the story with four sacks and six QB hurries, but its the way he gets to the quarterback that’s so impressive.

Cleveland doesn’t have a ton of playmakers on defense, but adding Garrett could give the Browns a chance to start developing a respectable unit that can put pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
