2017 NFL Mock Draft: First-Round Projections after Week 8
By Tyler Brooke
With the way this season is going, the Carolina Panthers are likely going to be picking a whole lot earlier than No. 14. Regardless of where they pick in the 2017 NFL draft, it’s become pretty apparent that they’re going to need to get help for their secondary sooner rather than later.
With Wilson, Peppers and Evans all off of the board already, the Panthers can still be happy with their selection by taking Florida’s Jalen “Teez” Tabor. The Gators cornerback is as aggressive as they come and has the speed and size to make plays.
One thing that Tabor needs to work on is making plays in the open field. He can struggle in run defense when he’s the only guy in front of the ball carrier, which is why Wilson ranks slightly higher than him.
However, with the speed and ball skills Tabor possesses, he could come in right away and have a positive impact on the Panthers defense.
