Navy vs South Florida Live Stream: Watch Midshipmen vs Bulls Online
By Tim Kaiser
Check out how to stream the American interdivisional game between the No. 22 Navy Midshipmen (5-1, 4-0 AAC) and the South Florida Bulls (6-2, 3-1).
The leaders of their respective divisions of the American Athletic Conference will go head-to-head on Friday night in Tampa. Navy comes in as the 22nd-ranked team in the country with the biggest upset of the season until Penn State’s upset of No. 2 Ohio State last week. Yet, the Midshipmen are nearly touchdown underdogs against South Florida.
Despite all the praise for Tom Herman and Houston, the Bulls are the top offense in the American by the numbers. South Florida is first in scoring offense at over 42 points per game and second in yards per game at 487. Junior quarterback Quinton Flowers leads the team with both his arm and his legs. The Miami native has thrown for 1722 yards and 15 touchdowns and run for another 745 yards and 8 touchdowns. Junior Marlon Mack leads the AAC with four games of 100 or more rushing yards this season. On the defensive side of the ball USF is far less impressive. The Bulls are last in the conference in yards allowed (447.6) and ninth in points allowed (28.4). In a loss to Temple last week, that porous South Florida defense gave up 46 points.
The West Division leaders are of course best known for their upset of Houston. Their offense and defense is ranked middle of the road. However, Navy has scored more than 40 pointsin each of their last two games against the top two scoring defenses in the conference. Senior quarterback Will Worth was named American Offensive Player of the Week two of the last three weeks. Flowers won on Navy’s bye week between the two. Worth is from Valrico, Florida less than 20 miles east of Raymond James Stadium so it will be a homecoming of sorts.
Navy won the teams’ only previous meeting 29-17 last year in Annapolis.
