Oregon Ducks tight end Pharaoh Brown got lucky on Saturday against Arizona State, dropping the ball before crossing the end zone and still getting a touchdown.

The Oregon Ducks got away with a huge mistake on Saturday, but still got credited with a touchdown in their Pac-12 showdown against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Early in the first quarter, the Ducks were able to get on the board with a huge touchdown. Quarterback Justin Herbert was able to find tight end Pharaoh Brown for a 72-yard score to put the Ducks up 7-0 in the first quarter.

However, after looking at the review, it appeared that Brown had let go of the ball before crossing the goal line, much like DeSean Jackson did a few years ago as well as a number of players in college football this season. Here’s another look at the play in question.

At this point, you have to be blown away by the fact that players continue to make this stupid decision. Fortunately for Brown and the Ducks, the referees didn’t even stop the game to take a second look at this, which is pretty surprising.

It has been a rough season for the Ducks, coming into Saturday’s game against the Sun Devils with a disappointing 2-5 record. At this point, they need any kind of break that they can get, and they got exactly that with the refs not reviewing this touchdown early in the game.

Now the Ducks are just hoping that they can turn that lucky break into their third win of the season.
