Western Michigan continues to have plety to celebrate this week. The Broncos kicked off Week 10 with Tuesday #MACtion against Ball State, demolishing the Cardinals on the road for a 32-point win. Zach Terrell threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns. Corey Davis caught a dozen of those completions and all three scoring passes, finishing with 272 receiving yards. Jarvion Franklin added another 109 yards and two rushing scores. Ball State had nearly 500 yards of offense but could only muster 20 points out of their efforts.

The CFP committee has traditionally been unimpressed by Group of Five teams, and Western Michigan has been no exception. The AP Top 25 had them six spots higher than the first CFP rankings after Week 9. As long as the Broncos keep winning, the media voters are more likely to leave WMU in place and allow the committee to bridge the gap. Neither Kent State nor Buffalo is likely to move the radar too much over the next few weeks, making the regular-season finale against Toledo so significant for the Broncos’ Cotton Bowl dreams.
