The Florida State Seminoles are probably the best three loss team in the nation. The Wolfpack may need to regroup by season’s end.

At 5-3 on the season and 2-3 in the ACC, the 22nd ranked Seminoles could be this season’s underachiever. They slept walk through much of their game last week before realizing they had running back Dalvin Cook on their team. But a questionable penalty left the Seminoles scrambling for answers, literally, on the final two plays of the game.

Cook had 19 carries for 169 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 8.9 yards a carry in the game. But still only managed to carry the ball 19 times. The Seminoles have to find a way to get him 30 carries a game if they want to win.

Quarterback Deondre Francois has 2,162 passing yards and 11 touchdowns this season for the Florida State offense. The passing attack would be a whole lot more lethal with more running in the game plan. This week, we’ll see how Cook does against the NC State Wolfpack.

The NC State Wolfpack and head coach Dave Doeren(please link to Hot Seat watch) have seen better seasons. After losing an overtime game to Clemson, they’ve lost two more game including to Boston College last week.

At 4-4 on the season and 1-3 in conference, an upset victory would do wonders for the Wolfpack’s season. With three losses in a row, it doesn’t help their rushing attack has largely stalled. Last week, they ran for 31 rushing yards as a team while surrendering 168 rushing yards.

They’ll need to get running back Matt Dayes going this week if they want a chance. They’ll also need to limit turnovers. They have eight turnovers in their last three losses.
