Lamar Jackson goes deep for third touchdown vs Boston College
By Tyler Brooke
Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to amaze with another huge performance on Saturday against the Boston College Eagles.
Week after week, we talk about why Louisville Cardinals quarterback Lamar Jackson is the clear front runner for the Heisman Trophy. Heck, I’ve been saying that we should go ahead and give him the Heisman since September.
Another huge performance on Saturday against the Boston College Eagles essentially sealed his fate as this season’s Heisman Trophy winner.
Jackson was on fire early on once again on Saturday. In the first quarter, the Cardinals were able to take a 21-0 lead thanks to 5-of-6 passing with 121 yards and two touchdowns from Jackson along with another 101 yards and a score on the ground.
The Louisville quarterback’s third touchdown of the first quarter came on this beautiful deep pass from Jackson to Jaylen Smith for a 44-yard touchdown. You can watch the video courtesy of ESPN below.
Through just a little over eight games, Jackson has already put up 41 total touchdowns, far and away more than any other player in college football. Meanwhile, the Cardinals headed into Saturday’s game with a 7-1 record and are looking to move to 8-1 with another blowout against an ACC opponent.
While Jackson will likely win the Heisman, the Cardinals are now going to keep scraping for a spot in the College Football Playoff. Losing to Clemson didn’t help, but there are still plenty of things that could happen to help Louisville sneak in to the CFP with a chance to play for a national title.
Regardless of what happens, Lamar Jackson has been an absolute joy to watch this season.
