ACC Football: Week 10 Power Rankings
The Virginia Cavaliers remain idle at 12 in this week’s power rankings. They’ve lost four straight ACC games since defeating Duke in Week Five for their first conference win. They are 1-4 in ACC play.
The Cavaliers lost by a possession for the second straight week to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Virginia led 20-17 entering the fourth quarter. But the defense gave up 10 points including a pick six in the fourth that gave Wake the lead for good 27-20.
Quarterback Kurt Benkert threw for 190 passing yards and two touchdowns but also threw two interceptions in the game. Benkert also fumbled the ball one time in the game. The Cavaliers offense had less than 200 passing yards for just the third time this season in the loss.
Virginia leads the ACC this season in interceptions with 11 on the season. They are also second in sacks allowed with 26.
This Week: Miami
Things don’t get any easier for Virginia or it’s defense this week when they face the high-powered Miami Hurricanes offense. They’ll look to snap their four game losing streak against Miami this week. The Cavaliers have won four of the last six meetings.
