Another team that got off to a 1-2 start to the season and had been overlooked by just about everyone to start the year, the Auburn Tigers are improving each week and they’re setting themselves up for a crucial Iron Bowl matchup in the final week of the season against top rival Alabama.

That rivalry hasn’t been huge in a couple of seasons, but this might be the year in which playoff hopes are on the line. Auburn is likely going to come in as the second-highest ranked two-loss team in the country and if it keeps mowing down inferior opponents in SEC play, it will set up a monster game in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 26.

The Tigers have won six straight games and have just one SEC contest against Georgia and a non-conference game versus Alabama A&M standing between them and the Crimson Tide.

Auburn hasn’t been getting the job done with an exciting aerial attack like it had the last time it won the national title with Cam Newton, but the Tigers are playing smash-mouth ball on the ground. They are averaging 300 rushing yards per game and opponents are having a tough time slowing them down.

Will that trend continue this week at Georgia?
