College Football Playoff Rankings: Projected Top 10 after Week 10
Wisconsin is going to be the highest-ranked two-loss team in college football after 10 weeks of action, which is almost unbelievable when you think about where this team started the season.
In fact, the Badgers were coming off a 10-win season in Paul Chryst’s first year, but they had major questions at the quarterback position heading into 2016. Wisconsin found itself outside of the AP Top 25, looking in, but the Badgers took down No. 5 LSU to start the year and really never looked back.
They added a win on the road against then-No. 8 Michigan State before losing their only two games of the year to Michigan and Ohio State — both ranked in the top-five range.
Starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook hasn’t been great for Wisconsin, but he will continue to improve throughout his career. If Wisconsin doesn’t make the playoff this season nor win the Big Ten West, it will likely be because of his inexperience and the lack of an elite run game like it usually has.
The Badgers’ defense is stifling, though, and they took care of business against Northwestern on the road Saturday to improve to 7-2. Expect them to be No. 7 in this week’s playoff poll.
