Toledo opens the Group of Five Power Rankings by moving up a spot. This is in part due to Middle Tennessee’s loss to UTSA, and in part also because Toledo is certainly a team with plenty to play for this season. They crushed Akron lsat week, as Logan Woodside threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns and Kareem Hunt carried for 136 yards and and a score. The Rockets held the Zips under 100 rushing yards while on defense, and they forced two interceptions to make up for allowing 348 passing yards.

Toledo’s path to Detroit for the MAC championship game is quite simple. The Rockets play their last two home games of the season tonight and next Wednesday, with Northern Illinois coming to the Glass Bowl for Week 11 play and then following with a visit from Ball State. They must win both to set up a winner-take-all showdown with Western Michigan in their regular-season finale against one another. If Toledo enters December with a 10-2 record, they will guarantee themselves a spot in the AAC title game and in the Group of Five discussion.
