What exactly is going on with the Baylor Bears? One minute, they’re cranking out offensive onslaughts with ease. The next minute, they lose to a Texas Longhorns team that they should be better than. They followed that up with an embarrassing loss to the TCU Horned Frogs. Then again, losing 62-22 at home needs a better adjective than embarrassing. Their record is 6-2, but with four very challenging games ahead, this team may be looking at another late-season collapse.

Unfortunately, losses to the Houston Cougars and the Ohio State Buckeyes threw a wrench into the program’s plans for a return visit. Sitting at 7-2 means they’re not out of it. A lot has to happen though, and it all needs to be in their favor. After this game, they finish with the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. That won’t help matters much.

Baylor won this game in 2011, 2013 and 2014. Oklahoma returned the favor and won last year. Inconsistencies and scandal have plagued the Bears all year. You have to wonder if the off-field distractions are starting to catch up with them. This game may actually decide how relevant Baylor is going forward. Expect some back and forth action, but in the end, the Sooners will have the lead late. Baylor will have a chance to pull it out, and just like the past two years, they won’t get it done in crunch time.
