The Louisville Cardinals were on upset alert on Saturday night against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, but Brandon Radcliff came up with a momentum-swinging play.

With the Clemson Tigers going down to Pittsburgh on Saturday night, the Louisville Cardinals had a chance to get back into the College Football Playoff discussions with another statement win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.

Unfortunately, things didn’t exactly go as planned early on. Heisman Trophy front runner Lamar Jackson couldn’t score a single touchdown in the first half, with the Cardinals going into the locker room at halftime down 12-3.

Louisville showed signs of life in the second half, first getting a big fourth-down stop to get the ball back. On the ensuing possession for the Cardinals, running back Brandon Radcliff was able to find a hole and take off for a 55-yard touchdown.

The most impressive part of Radcliff’s run was the strong finish, but you can watch the entire play in the video below courtesy of ESPN.

While Jackson has been getting all of the attention on Louisville’s offense, the senior running back has been making plays as well. Heading into Saturday, Radcliff had run for 627 yards and three touchdowns on 96 carries.

That touchdown was exactly what Louisville needed to spark a comeback. If they fall, the College Football Playoff committee is going to have a lot to talk about as far as the top four teams are concerned.

They may not have had Jackson scoring at will, but Radcliff was able to make a huge play.
