If you haven’t learned anything else about college football, the Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers have taught us one thing. All 7-2 records aren’t created equally. The Cornhuskers have lost two straight games to the Wisconsin Badgers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The latter was a 59 point drubbing in Columbus.

Now, if they’re going to find their way into the Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis, they’ll need to win out and get some help. That starts Saturday night against the Gophers. They’ll also be watching everything the Badgers do from here on out. If Wisconsin doesn’t lose any of their last three games, nothing Nebraska does will have any bearing on their dreams of getting to Lucas Oil Stadium on December 3rd.

These days, the Gophers are on the opposite end of the football pendulum. They also sit at 7-2 on the season. They’ve just gone about it a different way. They lost two straight games to the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Iowa Hawkeyes by a grand total of ten points back in October. Since then, they’ve gone on a four-game winning streak. Their point total has increased each week, and they seem to be coming into this one with all of the momentum.

Here’s something else of note. The game will be produced in virtual reality. Who knows what that means exactly, but it sounds cool. We know it involves virtual reality producer VOKE and four 180-degree HD cameras. Most will see the Cornhuskers as the favorites in this one, but if things get tight, a very real possibility knowing the Gophers, momentum could shift to the team from Minnesota. Figure the Gophers to be scrappy as always, irritate the Cornhuskers into abandoning their gameplan and win a close one.
