In one of the wildest games of the college football season, the Pittsburgh Panthers somehow pulled off the upset over the Clemson Tigers. Twitter collectively lost its mind.

The College Football Playoff rankings shook up in a big way on Saturday. The No. 2 Clemson Tigers came into their game against the Pittsburgh Panthers expecting a big win. Instead, the Panthers took them on in a shootout and came away with possibly the biggest upset of the year.

After the Tigers went for it on fourth down up 42-40 and failed to convert, the Panthers drove down the field quickly to set up a 48-yard field goal. Pittsburgh kicker Chris Blewitt ignored his ironic last name and drilled the game-winning field goal for the 43-40 win.

Not only did the field goal help the Panthers win, but it also helped Pittsburgh become bowl eligible. Here’s a video of Blewitt’s clutch field goal.

Because it was such a crazy upset, Twitter collectively lost its mind.

A number of NFL players were apparently watching as well, including former Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy.

Despite the loss, plenty of people, including Clay Travis, still think that Clemson should get into the College Football Playoff as long as they can win out while grabbing the ACC Championship title.

Clemson still has a good chance to wind up in the College Football Playoff, but there are others arguing that Louisville should still be in the conversation as well. FanSided’s Patrick Schmidt isn’t having any of that.

It’ll be tough to get over, but the Tigers still have some more games to play before they can even think about getting back into the top four of the College Football Playoff polls.
