Baylor Bears quarterback Seth Russell suffered a frightening injury during Saturday’s game against the Oklahoma Sooners.

There are few players in college football that deserved to get through this season more than Baylor Bears quarterback Seth Russell. Unfortunately, it looks like his season will be coming to an end after what happened on Saturday against the Oklahoma Sooners.

With the Bears down 35-10 in the third quarter on Saturday, Russell tried to scramble down the field to pick up the first down. After getting tackled, Russell immediately appeared to be in serious pain. The Baylor quarterback had been tackled low and suffered a seriously gruesome leg injury.

Last season, Russell missed the rest of the season when he suffered a frightening neck injury. Despite the severity of the injury, Russell had been able to return this year and play at a high level.

You can see Russell’s injury from Saturday in the video below, but be warned, because the following video is tough to watch.

The Sooners were all class after the injury, with a number of players going to show their support while Russell was being put on the cart.

It has been an emotional season for Baylor as their program continues to try and heal while details keep emerging regarding how the school improperly handled sexual assault allegations against athletes.

The Bears had started the season 6-0, but with two straight losses and another looming today, the season is quickly starting to go downhill. For the Sooners, their offense is firing on all cylinders and they are hoping for a miracle to somehow sneak into the College Football Playoff.

As for Russell, we can only hope that he can make a full recovery, especially since his chances of being drafted in April were already up in the air.
