College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 12
By Zach Bigalke
After losing two straight and three of their past four, it is still too early to determine whether Texas A&M really righted the ship this weekend. But they did stem the losing streak with a 13-point win against the Roadrunners, holding UTSA to 252 total yards of offense and 15 first downs for a solid if unspectacular win. Jake Hubenak passed for 248 yards and a touchdown while adding 12 rushing yards, outgaining the visitors by himself.
A win over LSU next week would push the Aggies to nine wins and, coupled with an Alabama win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl, would lock up a second-place finish in the SEC West. That could be enough to seal up one of the SEC’s spots in a New Year’s Six bowl game, which would be a testament to Kevin Sumlin’s coaching skills under pressure after losing starting quarterback Trevor Knight for the season.
