Pittsburgh’s James Conner breaks ACC career rushing TD record vs Duke

Pittsburgh Panthers running back James Conner made history on Saturday with this touchdown against the Duke Blue Devils.
It has been an emotional season for Pittsburgh Panthers running back James Conner. However, despite everything he’s gone through, Conner will now go down in ACC history after Saturday’s performance against the Duke Blue Devils.
Coming off of the huge upset win over the Clemson Tigers last week, the Panthers came back on Saturday and were firing on all cylinders against Duke. The Panthers dominated throughout the contest, coming away with a 56-14 victory to move to 7-4 on the year.
Conner was a big reason for the team’s success. During the game, he finished with 101 yards and two touchdowns on just 14 carries. In the third quarter, Conner was able to break the ACC record for career rushing touchdowns on a one-yard run. The fact that Conner is even playing this season is incredible. Last season, Conner suffered a knee injury that ended up saving his life because it helped him discover a large tumor. The Pittsburgh running back continued to train for the 2016 season while going through chemotherapy, and that allowed him to take the field to start this season.
As Conner nears the end of his college career, he’s hoping to at least get a chance to play for an NFL team. Even if he’s not able to find an NFL team, he’s still going to go down as a legend in Pittsburgh and the ACC as a whole.
