Wisconsin’s T.J. Watt returns interception for TD vs Purdue

The Wisconsin Badgers were expected to blow out the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday, and plays like this from T.J. Watt helped them out.
Being the younger brother of a multiple-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year has to be tough. However, Wisconsin Badgers outside linebacker T.J. Watt has quickly been making a name for himself thanks to big plays like this one.
On Saturday, the Badgers took on a struggling Purdue Boilermakers team. As one of the top teams in the country coming in at No. 7 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings, Wisconsin was expected to blow Purdue out of the water.
Well, Wisconsin was struggling early on against Purdue. However, the Badgers were able to get two touchdowns within eight seconds of each other. After a one-yard touchdown from Alec Ingold, Purdue had a chance to answer.
Instead, Boilermakers quarterback David Blough threw an interception directly to Watt on their first play of the drive. Watt then took the interception to the house for a touchdown to put the Badgers up 14-3. You can check out the play in the video below.
Watt has been making big plays all season for the Badgers despite still learning how to play the outside linebacker position. He’s just one of a number of players who have stepped up for the Badgers to help them go 8-2 heading into Saturday’s game.
If the Badgers can win, they’ll be one step closer to an appearance in the Big Ten Championship and possibly an appearance in the College Football Playoff provided enough madness occurs in the coming weeks.
