The Utah Utes drew first blood on Saturday against the Colorado Buffaloes thanks to a big punt return touchdown from Boobie Hobbs.

One of the biggest games on Saturday was a Pac-12 showdown between the Utah Utes and Colorado Buffaloes. Although the Utes were ranked behind Colorado, they were able to get on the board first.

Both teams came into Saturday’s game having exceeded many analysts’ expectations for the season, but were both hoping for another big win. The Buffaloes struggled to do much of anything on offense early, losing a fumble and punting the ball away on their opening drives.

Early in the second quarter, Colorado punted to Utah Utes return man Boobie Hobbs. Hobbs did a little dancing to avoid some tacklers, then found a crease and took off for a thrilling 55-yard touchdown to put Utah up 7-0 for an early lead.

You can check out Hobbs’ return with multiple angles in the videos below.

The Utes came into Saturday’s game with an 8-3 record while being ranked No. 22 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Meanwhile, the Buffaloes were ranked No. 9 with a 9-2 record and are looking to make it to the Pac-12 Championship Game with a win on Saturday. If they lose, the USC Trojans will get the opportunity to play the Washington Huskies.

Plays like this one from Hobbs are going to make it that much harder for Colorado to play in the conference championship. Buffaloes fans are hoping that their team can avoid giving up any more big plays like this one.
