Dalvin Cook rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown and added another 26 yards receiving as the Seminoles pulled away from Florida in their rivalry game on Saturday. Florida State held the Gators to just 207 total yards of offense, as the visitors went 0-for-12 on third down. Jimbo Fisher’s team wasn’t overwhelmingly impressive on Thanksgiving weekend, but though they have been long out of the ACC race they might have played their way into a New Year’s Six berth.

When the AP Top 25 is released tomorrow, Florida State will probably only climb a spot or two. But depending on what happens with Clemson and Virginia Tech, the Seminoles could be looking at a possible invite to the Orange Bowl or the Sugar Bowl to fill one of the ACC’s affiliated slots. More important, though, might be the fact that the Seminoles managed to hold onto Fisher after he was in the discussion for the LSU gig.
