College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 13
By Zach Bigalke
The Huskies left nothing to question in the Apple Cup on Black Friday, romping to a 28-3 lead in the first quarter and maintaining their advantage over rival Washington State until the final whistle. Heisman hopeful Jake Browning completed 21 of his 29 passes, throwing for 292 yards and three touchdowns. The ground game churned out 168 tough yards, helping balance out the offense. Meanwhile the defense prevented the Cougars from gaining any momentum, allowing just 334 yards and forcing four turnovers.
The win handed Washington the Pac-12 North title. Chris Petersen’s team will arrive in Santa Clara for the conference championship game as a favorite, and if they win the Huskies will be in the College Football Playoff. They could still be outside the top four in the AP Top 25 as well as the CFP rankings, but if they win the Pac-12 title it would be surprising to see Washington shut out of the playoff semifinals.
