Here are five key players to watch for in this years Pac-12 Championship game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Washington Huskies.

Since the creation the Pac-12 Championship game back in 2011, only two teams have ever won it. Stanford and Oregon are the only teams to have won. Along with being the only two teams to win, either Stanford or Oregon have made the Pac-12 championship game each year.

This year’s game features two teams that have never made the championship which means that there will be a new champion in the Pac-12. Washington will be looking for their first Pac-12 Championship since 2000. Colorado on the other hand has never won the Pac-12 and is seeking their first Pac-12 Championship ever.

It’s a little crazy to believe that Colorado has made it this far. Over the past three years, Colorado has gone 2-25 in Pac-12 conference games. They finished with a total of 10 wins over the last three years. This year, they went 8-1 in Pac-12 conference games and have won 10 games. That’s the same amount they won over the past three years.

Colorado is coming in on a six-game win streak that includes back-to-back wins over top 25 teams. The Buffs did a solid job of defending home turf as well this year. Colorado went undefeated at home this year. Their only losses are to No. 5 Michigan and No. 11 USC.

As for Washington, last year they ended 4-5 in conference games. They ultimately went on to win the Heart of Dallas bowl over Southern Miss. This year, Washington is in the CFP and they can secure a spot in the CFP with a win in this game.

The end game is a bit different for both teams. Colorado probably won’t make the CFP, so with a win they will be making a trip to the Rose Bowl. With a win for Washington, they will be headed to the CFP. Lets check out some players from both teams that will be key if these teams are to reach their end goal.
