One of the top wide receiver recruits in the nation, Tarik Black, has announced that he will be playing for the Michigan Wolverines.

Michigan Wolverines fans were thrilled when the football team hired Jim Harbaugh to be their head coach in large part because of his ability to recruit players. Once again, Harbaugh proved that he can bring in the big names on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, four-star wide receiver recruit Tarik Black announced that he has committed to Michigan to play for Harbaugh’s Wolverines. Black was the No. 1 recruit out of Connecticut and the No. 17 receiver in the country according to 247Sports. Black was an Army All-American selection and is coming out of high school listed at 6’4” and 208 pounds.

ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren confirmed Black’s commitment on Twitter. He also noted that the Wolverines already have 11 high school recruits committed to play for them next season that are currently ranked in the ESPN 300.

Given his size, Black looked like a man amongst boys while playing in high school. You can check out some of his high school highlights in the YouTube video below.

This is another big addition for the Wolverines. Although it’s not clear when exactly Black will see the field for Michigan, the Wolverines will likely be losing their two top receivers to the NFL draft after this season in Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh.
