Between Clemson and Alabama, who has the edge at each position in the College Football Playoff National Championship?

Who doesn’t want to see a rematch of last year’s College Football Playoff National Championship between Clemson and Alabama? The two teams beat the snot out of each other a season ago and it could be argued that each is better than it was last season at this time.

The Crimson Tide are younger at most positions after losing guys like Jake Coker and Derrick Henry, but that doesn’t make them any less dangerous. Take out those two studs and replace them with a top recruiting class and arguably the scariest running back, size-wise, in the country and a freshman sensation quarterback.

Not to mention, Alabama has one of the best defenses in college football history. In fact, the Crimson Tide have seemingly scored more defense and special teams points than most FBS teams have on offense. I kid, but it’s still impressive to see them score with ease.

However, just like last season, Clemson isn’t going to just roll over and let the Crimson Tide take home the crown for the second straight season. Dabo Swinney has assembled an uber-talented team and it’s going to be yet another dogfight.

Clemson returns Heisman-contending quarterback Deshaun Watson who had impressive numbers this season and could be a difference-maker for the Tigers.

Let’s take a look at which team holds the edge at each position as well as head coach ahead of Monday’s big game.
